Sometimes you don’t need a huge extension to give you more space. Often a change of an existing layout can be updated to create a more useable space. That’s what we did here.
We have recently completed a comprehensive ground floor remodel and extension home in Heworth, York. This transformation includes a garage conversion, utility room, home office and large open plan kitchen, dining area and snug with 3 large bifold doors opening out to gardens on two sides.
On one side of the property we added a modern glass box single-storey extension with GRP roof, with bifold doors and glazed sides to flood the dining area with natural light and direct garden access.
The in-frame bespoke painted kitchen units are from DIY Kitchens with quartz worktop and splashback, hidden sockets and induction hob. Adjacent to the kitchen, a stylish dining area which is set back, into the garden and features floor to ceiling glazing on 3 sides. The lounge area is complemented by another bifold door with a glazed return which allows more views into the garden. The new space features underfloor heating throughout, smart lighting control and ceiling mounted Sonos sound system.
Externally, we’ve landscaped the area where the old conservatory stood and built a new large patio with paths along the side of the house.
